The strike at Petrapole port was not resolved in three days. An indefinite strike has been going on for the third day in a row between the transport traders carrying goods and the Indian Petrapole Port Authority and the Border Security Force (BSF) over the entry into the port. The strike is being held in the Indian port of Petrapole, opposite Benapole.
The Petrapole Land Port Authority has recently issued some new restrictions at the border. And that is creating problems in the export trade. On the issue of security of the country, the border guards are not allowing Indian truck drivers to enter Bangladesh without all the proper documents. In protest, traders have decided to suspend trade indefinitely from Monday (January 31). The protesters said that the movement will continue till the demand is met. ‘BSF is carrying out torture in the name of truck search. Drivers, owners and clearing agents are being harassed. At the same time, the port authorities have imposed a ban on entry into the port and are carrying out various forms of oppression, ”they protested at the Petrapole land port. The Bangaon Goods Transport Association has closed the import-export trade indefinitely from Monday. They are supported by several organizations including Clearing Agent Staff Association, Bangaon New Owners Association, Bangaon Motor Owners Association, Border Transport Owners Association, Labor Organization. However, as both sides remained steadfast in their decision, the trade has come to a standstill. Earlier, the import trade was closed for three days last week due to the same demand. In the Indian part of the world, trade has been halted for a long time due to strikes or strikes. The meeting was called to end the stalemate in the import-export trade at the Petrapole border. Though all parties sat for talks from noon to evening on Monday and Tuesday, the issue was not resolved as port users including Petrapole Port, Customs, BSF, C&F agents, truck owners and trade unions of India remained adamant in their respective decisions. The meeting is scheduled to be held again on Wednesday. Meanwhile, about one and a half thousand trucks carrying import and export goods are waiting to enter the zero line of Benapole-Petrapole port due to import-export closure. These products include perishable products including industrial raw materials, readymade garments, oxygen, chemicals and baby food. Traders are fearful of losses if trade is not resumed soon. The traders demanded a solution in the meeting without calling a strike on minor issues.
